How to try Curling

If you have never curled before, and that includes most people, we have several opportunities for you to get your feet wet.

Open Houses: The easiest way to try curling is to come by one of our scheduled open houses. We hold an open house in October (the beginning of our season), and another in January (the midpoint of our season). Check our calendar or watch our home page for dates and times.

"Drop In" Sessions: A slightly less structured method to try curling is to drop by for one of our "drop in" sessions. On Saturday mornings, join us for our breakfast league. Arrive by 8:15 for a quick 45 minute introductory lesson. Teams are formed from 9:00 to 9:15 and starting at 9:15 we play an eight end game. Breakfast is served about 8:30, depending on who's cooking that week.

For the "Drop In" curling sessions, we will be following our priority procedure where everyone will be assured the opportunity to be able to play either all or part of the game.  Members, and those who show up and sign in earliest, are given higher preference to play the most ends. We encourage you to come with friends as a small group, with "small" being the operative word. If you wish to bring the friends and neighbors and co-workers and have 10 or 20 people, then you are talking about a rental, not a small group for drop-in curling.

Please check our league pages or calendar to be sure that the Drop In session will be held on any particular day. They often get bumped for special events such as bonspiels or an open house.

Learn to Curl Programs: The most serious approach, but still lots of fun, is our "Learn to Curl" program, a three hour training session. We hold these programs twice per season, in October and in January. Click Here for a more detailed description. Unlike the first two options, this one carries a nominal ($35) charge.

After you have given it a try, we hope you'll want to join. As a brand new curler, you can join for one half of a season for less than you might think. To encourage new curlers, you are entitled to a significant membership discount. Please see our Membership Page for more details.
