26th Annual Chesapeake Potomac Invitational Bonspiel
February 20 - 22, 2009
The Chesapeake Potomac Invitational Bonspiel (a.k.a. the Meltdown) was begun in 1983 as a competition between the Potomac Curling Club and the Chesapeake Curling Club. At the time of founding, Potomac was curling at Cabin John on rented hockey ice once a week, and the newly established Chesapeake club had dedicated curling ice. The two clubs jointly hosted the original bonspiel. Since that time the clubs have alternated hosting the event.
