• Who can join: Full teams, partial teams, individuals with at least one year of curling experience

  • Maximum 18 teams
  • Round robin play with playoffs each half season

 

The Thursday Open league plays by the World Curling Federation rules, which have been adopted in their entirety by USA Curling and Potomac Curling Club. We fully embrace the Spirit of Curling and are committed to fairness in league administration, curling play, and all related activities.

Each half-season, two divisions of nine teams each compete in round robin play followed by playoffs for:

• A Event - League Championship Belt
• B Event - White Belt of Kinda-Goodness
• C Event - Kid's Belt of Mediocrity
• D Event - Piece of Rope from Steve's Trunk

Teams can be composed of any gender mix. Entry is by team, partial team, or individual; the league coordinators will compose full teams from partial team and individual entrants. Teams are assigned to one of two divisions with a goal of achieving balanced skill between the divisions.

Games are played Thursday evenings with draws at 7:15 pm and 9:30 pm.
