Daytime Curling (Monday and Wednesday)
Overview:
Daytime Curling is drop-in and held almost every Monday and Wednesday when ice is Installed, including federal holidays when possible. This program is open to all Potomac Curling Club members who have mastered the basics and are ready to apply those skills in a structured game format. We ask only that you understand how play proceeds and be ready to play.
We play a variety of games, including traditional 3 - 4 person teams, doubles, singles, etc. We will always try to accommodate your desires for specific game formats, preferred positions, and teammates; it all depends on how many show up on any given morning. If you just want to practice, we will often have a sheet available.
After the games, please join us for Broomstacking! Participants are highly encouraged, but not required to bring a snack to share with the group. If you would like to coordinate snacks with other members you can use the spreadsheet below:
With a focus on fun and casual play, Daytime Curling offers an exciting atmosphere where you can connect with fellow curlers and learn new strategies or techniques. Flexibility and a friendly attitude is all we are looking for. We look forward to having you join us on a regular or spur-of-the-moment basis!
Daytime drop in Curling is the best place to try something new. Want to try the harder shot? Have you wanted to try Skipping? this is the best place to practice in a game atmosphere with strong players willing to work with members.
Schedule:
We curl almost every Monday and Wednesday when there is ice. Please refer to the club's Event Calendar for more information. If you checked the box that you were interested in Daytime Curling during registration, you will be notified by email of any cancellations due to inclement weather or upcoming holidays. We will cancel in case of weather.
Games start at 10:00am and end around noon. Please arrive five to ten minutes early so teams and sheet assignments can be made. If you are wanting to play in a game, but will be arriving late, please let us know in advance the day of via text or email so we can make accommodations for you.
It is possible that the Monday draw may be asked to finish by 1130 for a rental. If so, the start time may be adjusted accordingly for that week.
If you would like learn or help with ice prep, please arrive around 9:30am. This is a great place to practice ice prep.
